Pastor Cindy’s Christmas Wish List

Following is my Wish List:

#1 I wish….

…every child in Quest had their own, on-their-reading-level Bible and brought it to church every Sunday morning. We’re training kids to handle and love God’s Word- and it’s hard to do that without a Bible!! I love the New International Reader’s Version (NiRV) because it is written on a 3rd-4th grade reading level. Younger kids can work towards this level, and older kids can master and understand it.  God has always spoken so people would know what he meant and God wants kids today to understand the Bible, too. That’s why I wish every one of our Quest kids had an easy- to- read and easy-to-understand version of the Bible. Here’s a link to my Christmas gift suggestion:  the Kids Quest Study Bible

#2 I wish…

…every family would make time for Jesus during this month in which we celebrate His birthday! If that is your desire as well, I have a Christmas wish list suggestion for you! Click here for a Family Advent experience sure to keep Jesus “front and center” as we celebrate Him all month long.

Full disclosure (plus I’m a proud parent!)   My daughter Amanda is the author, my son Jason is the illustrator/graphics designer and I made some of the crafts as well as helped to proof the copy! Our prayer is that through Bible reading, family discussion and fun craft activities,  your family will find “the truth in tinsel” this Christmas as never before. A portion of the proceeds of this e-book will benefit our MPN Children’s Ministries.

#3 I wish…

…every parent would purchase and read to their children, my next Christmas gift suggestion, The Big God Story. This book is a framework that presents the grand narrative of the Bible in a way kids can “get.”  It will remind your children of stories they have already heard and prompt them to ask questions about stories that they might not fully know.  Most importantly though, this book keeps the main thing the main thing.  This is a book about God.  It’s about God’s plan and God’s work and God’s grace, and those themes are presented throughout the book. The Big God Story approach is the way we teach God’s Word in Quest, Quest, jr and li’l explorers; making this book a great connector between church and home.

#4 I wish…

Every elementary-aged boy child would receive The Action Bible for Christmas this year. Take a look at this video and see if you don’t agree.

The Action Bible doesn’t take the place of a regular children’s Bible. However, my heart’s desire would be that the excitement toward’s God Word demonstrated by the boy in the video would be your child’s excitement as well.

OK- will you get me something from my Christmas Wish List?!  Blessings, Pastor Cindy
